Beware of the installer with an ear piece, costing €26. My meter costs over 300€, guess which gives the best results!

You have bought your own dish and just need it aligned, so you call out a registered installer, who then tells you that your LNB

is no good and you need one supplied by him for €90. Don’t be fooled, Your LNB will in all probability be OK, plus a new LNB can cost as little as €10!

The other scam is this: Not only have you installed your own dish, but have brought your own black sat cable with you from the UK, only to be told that it is illegal in France because the sun will melt it! This story is true, so don’t be fooled.
